Sydney Olympic Football Club would like to announce the signing of Spanish born striker Alex Sanchez.
Alex has played his football in Spain and most notably in the first team for Real Zaragoza in La Liga (First Division) in 2009-10 and Osasuna in 2nd division in the season of 2015-16. Most recently Alex played for Tudelano in 2nd B division, where he has had a number of stints in his playing career.
Gorka Etxeberria was excited by the signing and said,
“Alex is a striker who not only will score goals but is also able to help the team in the creative phase of play. Alex has committed to the club for two seasons and is excited by the squad the club has assembled”.
“Alex was exactly the player we were looking for and will bring skill and experience to our squad. Our Senior squad is now complete and it’s now time to commence the second segment of pre-season training ahead of our first trial match against Manly on Sunday 28 January 2018 at Cromer Park”. Etxeberria added
Alex Sanchez was extremely happy to arrive in Australia and commence training with the squad immediately.
“I’m really glad to join Sydney Olympic FC in what I am sure will be an amazing season”.
“I’m hoping I can contribute in helping the club achieve its objective’s by scoring lots of goals in my new jersey” Sanchez expressed.
“Opportunities to play in Australia and at Sydney Olympic FC, a club with lots of great tradition and where many National team players have played previously don’t come around very often so I am excited to take this opportunity and make the most of it. I look forward to seeing all our fans supporting the team at our matches” Sanchez added.
