This Sunday our Special K Women’s program takes the field for trial matches against University of NSW in the Women’s Youth and Senior squads and Southern Districts Football Association in the SAP age groups.

We welcome back Special K for their second season as major sponsor of the program and also welcome this year Talos Insurance and Risk Solutions as a supporting partner of the Women’s program.

In 2018, we will be aiming to build on last year’s strong season, that saw our First Grade squad win the Premiership, Reserve Grade win the Championship and Under 15 squad make the Grand Final.

This year we welcome Bill Papas as 1st Grade coach who has taken the place of George Beltsos who is undertaking a technical role in the program

Our coaching appointments throughout the program are as follows;

1st Grade – Bill Papas
Reserve Grade – Arthur Beltsos
Under 17 – Nick Scott
Under 15 – Phil Youldon
Under 14 – Yanake Tennant
Under 13 – John Pladas
Under 12 – Sean Maloney
Under 11 – Musie Elongo
Under 10 – Raff Cuomo

Our first grade squad will be headlined by last season’s NPL 2 Player of the Year Kate Halaska and Golden Boot winner Maddie Costanzo. We are excited to be able to retain a large majority of the squads from last season. They will be joined by a host of impressive new recruits that will be on display in our trial matches. Some of these players that will feature in our First Grade squad include; Siahn Bozanic, Kristy Rohrer, Lieke De Bever and Amanda Horafios.

In the coming weeks leading into the season our Senior Squad will play trial matches against North West Koalas, Gladesville Ravens and finish with an internal trial, while our Youth teams play in the Proctor Cup the week before the regular season commences.

Olympic CEO John Boulous said “We are extremely pleased with both the Coaching line-up we have assembled and the players we have both retained and recruited across the program. Importantly all are committed in strengthening our program and bring enthusiasm and experience”.

“We will continue to strengthen our Women’s program both on and off the field to ensure our players and squads have the best opportunity to reach their potential” Boulous added.
