Sydney Olympic FC is delighted to announce the signing of Troy Danaskos for the 2019 season. Troy has made 80 appearances between 2012 and 2015 for Olympic before joining Wellington Phoenix in the A-League in 2016. Most recently Troy played with Marconi Stallions in the NSW NPL over the last two seasons.
Troy could not hide his excitement to re-join Olympic, stating:
“It’s great to be back home, Olympic is the club where I made my first team debut and it’s an environment that I have genuinely missed”
“During my last spell at the club, we achieved great success and it was where I played my best football. Based on the teams performances last year, I am looking forward to playing a good brand of football under Abbas’ guidance and hopefully go back to back in doing so”.
“I have been very impressed with the professionalism of the club and the direction the club is taking and I can’t wait to be back in blue”.
Head Coach Abbas Saad was equally excited to see Troy return:
“Troy is a welcome addition to our playing group, he is experienced and gives our squad a huge boost”.
“Troy is an Olympic boy, athletic and fast and I am sure he will contribute and make an impact at both ends of the field”.
