A fixture alteration will now see Sydney United FC host the defending champions, Sydney Olympic FC at 3 pm on Sunday 24th June 2012 at Sydney United Sports Centre, in what will be an entertaining contest.

The two heavyweight clubs have had a tumultuous season thus far, with inconsistent performances, injuries and suspensions affecting the defending champions' 2012 campaign. Last weekend, the 'Blues' failed to capitalise on their chances, as school boy errors took a toll on the 'Blues', who were defeated 2 nil by the home side Rockdale City Suns. Rockdale delivered a convincing performance with A-League striker Dylan Macallister securing a brace for his side.

With an array of young talent and veteran footballers in their side, the 'Blues' will be expected to 'up the ante' and issue a dominating performance when they encounter their long time rivals, Sydney United on Sunday. Sydney Olympic will be without forward, Matthew Mayora and pacey winger Will Angel, both will miss the encounter due to suspension.

Sydney United FC have also failed to shine this season, with poor results and under-strength performances observed in previous weeks.The Reds shared all three points with the bottom-of-the-table, Parramatta FC outfit last weekend in Round 12 of the competition with a score less draw obtained after 90 mins of action.

Assistant Coach, Mike Gibson officially took the reins as the coach of the Reds last weekend and will replace former coach, Jean-Paul De Marigny for the remainder of the season, with the latter wishing to focus on his commitments as Technical Director of the club. 

Forward Dave Barac issued a strong performance last weekend for the Reds and will be a definite one to watch this Sunday.
