Sydney Olympic FC will travel out west to take on Blacktown City FC in Round 7 of the competition, this Sunday 13th May 2012, with kick off scheduled at 3 pm at Lily Homes Stadium.
Sydney Olympic FC have had a difficult week and are looking to put their disappointing previous results behind them. The 'Blues' encountered their second loss of the season last Sunday at Lambert Park, as a converted Andrew Bevin penalty provided the home side, APIA Leichhardt Tigers with a 2-1 victory over the defending champions. Sydney Olympic FC dominated possession over the duration of the 90 minutes but were unable to pull the trigger on a number of occasions. The inability to deliver the end product and score goals has been a weakness thus far in the 2012 season, with luck clearly not on the 'Blues' side.
A lack of luck was observed in Olympics' mid week Waratah Cup fixture at Marconi Stadium, with the 'Blues' once again overpowering their opponent and having nothing to show of it. The Stallions were awarded a penalty late in the second half and converted from the penalty spot to defeat and subsequently eliminate the 'Blues' from the Waratah Cup. The 'Blues' will not dwell on the defeat and will instead set their sights on securing the three points against Blacktown City FC on Sunday.
