In Round 3 of the NSW Premier Youth League, the Sydney Olympic FC Youth teams travelled to Blacktown Football Park and challenged the Blacktown Spartans.
The Sydney Olympic FC Under 13's maintained their undefeated streak on Saturday morning after they celebrated their third victory in the 2012 season, defeating the Blacktown Spartans, 2-1. Captain Peter Kekeris and midfielder Joey Lameri were the goal scorers for the 'olympic juniors', who once again issued a great performance. The boys will now prepare for their next opponent, the Marconi Stallions, who have yet to be defeated this season, with the game set to be a difficult encounter.
The Sydney Olympic FC Under 14's side have seen their season get off to a difficult start, with the boys yet to celebrate a point thus far. The 'olympic juniors' obtained another disappointing result in Round 3 of the competition, with the Blacktown Spartans defeating Sydney Olympic, 3 nil. This weekend, the boys travel to Marconi Stadium and will take on the Marconi Stallions who have not been defeated this season.
After a spectacular victory in Round 2 of the competition, the Sydney Olympic FC Under 15's hoped to celebrate a consecutive victory against the Spartans. However, their hopes went unsatisfied, as they were defeated 2-1 by the newly promoted side. Sydney Olympic FC did well to challenge the home side and whilst they were tied at 1-1 the 'olympic juniors' looked dangerous and almost secured the winner. However, a lapse of concentration by the 'Blues' enabled the home side, to capitalise and celebrate a victory.
With a point secured in Round 2 of the competition, the Sydney Olympic FC Under 16's side entered the Round 3 fixture in positive spirits, but luck was truly not on their side as they were defeated 3 nil by the Blacktown Spartans. Despite dominating the home side in the opening quarter, the 'olympic juniors' failed to deliver the end product and put away their numerous chances. Whilst on the other end of the field, the Spartans delivered and capitalised their goal scoring opportunities, much to the disappointment of the 'olympic juniors'
The Sydney Olympic FC Under 18's side are a force to be reckoned with in the 2012 season, after they preserved their undefeated streak on Saturday afternoon, with a 3-1 victory over the Blacktown Spartans. All three goals were delivered in the second half as defender Yianni Spyrakis opened the score in the 50th minute, followed by Hassan Hamadi and Petros Stefadouros, who celebrated his third goal of the 2012 season in the 85th minute. The result brought the passionate Sydney Olympic FC coach Chris Karatzis to his knees, with his boys playing spectacular football.
