Sydney Olympic is proud to announce the appointment of Domenic Marino as the under 12’s girls Coach in the 2012 Football NSW Super League competition. Raffaele De Maio has been appointed the Assistant Coach of the under 12’s side with both men possessing vast experience in coaching. Both Domenic and Raffaele have achieved great success, with their current side Canterbury Juniors Soccer Club obtaining various accomplishments, such as, reaching the semi-finals and finals in the Kanga Cup Tournament in Canberra in 2010 and 2011 and winning the Minor Premiership for the past three consecutive years. Domenic and Raffaele look forward to the 2012 season, positive that they can replicate their past success at Sydney Olympic.
Domenic and Raffaele are passionate about women’s football and hope to continue improving the standard of women’s football in Australia. “It is a challenge [but] we are happy that the club has offered us this opportunity to improve our skills as coaches. We want to grow with the game” Raffaele stated.
Domenic and Raffaele aim to enforce a Premier and Super League standard of coaching in the 2012 season, to ensure and reinforce the importance of both discipline and focus. Both Domenic and Raffaele express the importance of nurturing and developing a player’s talent to foster the growth of women’s football in Australia.
Both men have observed several Sydney Olympic FC women’s games in the 2011 season with Domenic claiming that he had seen ‘A lot of talented girls with the potential to improve and progress to a higher level’.
We wish both Domenic and Raffaele all the best in their new respective positions as both the under 12’s girls Coach and Assistant Coach. We are confident that they will meet the expectations, of the Board, parents, players and fans of our Club.
