The Sydney Olympic FC Youth under 14’s and 18’s sides celebrated significant victories over the weekend, to advance to the next stage of their respective finals campaign.
The Sydney Olympic FC under 14’s side took on Parramatta FC at Lily Homes Stadium on Saturday 17th September 2011 in what appeared to be an enthralling contest. Sydney Olympic FC defeated Parramatta FC 4-2 and advanced to the Preliminary Final on Tuesday 20th September 2011 at 7.45pm at Jensen Park. Sydney Olympic FC will face the Marconi Stallions in the Preliminary Final, who finished at the Top of the table in the regular scheduled 2011 season. The winner of the Preliminary Final will secure a position in the 2011 Subway Premier Youth League Grand Final on Saturday 24th September 2011 and will take on the Sutherland Sharks, who have already secured a spot in the Grand Final after defeating Marconi Stallions 2-1 in the Major Semi Final on Sunday 18th September 2011.
The Sydney Olympic FC under 18’s took on the Sutherland Sharks in the 2011 Major Semi Final on Sunday 18th September 2011 at Belmore Sports Ground and celebrated a 4-3 victory over their opposition in what was, an entertaining and action packed contest. As a result of the victory the Sydney Olympic FC under 18’s squad have advanced to the 2011 Grand Final which will be played on Monday 3rd October 2011 at Belmore Sports Ground and will take on the winner of the Preliminary Final clash, between Sutherland Sharks and Manly United FC, which will be played on Sunday 25th September 2011.
