Sydney Olympic's female soccer supporters led to $3,500 PDF Print E-mail
TeleChoice, Football NSW and Sydney Olympic are thanking their female soccer supporters for raising over $3,500 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

For every female who attended a Premier League game on Mother’s Day weekend, TeleChoice and Football NSW donated $5 to NBCF.

703 women attended the six Premier League games over the weekend, with 51 of these women attending the Sydney United vs. Sydney Olympic match on Mother’s Day.

Michelle Schlosz, TeleChoice State Manager NSW/ACT, says it is fantastic to see the local community rally together to raise critical funds for a great cause. “The money will assist NBCF in furthering their research. More than 13,000 new cases are expected this year, with 95 men also being diagnosed. “TeleChoice believes in supporting charities that represent the ‘People’s Choice’. With the thousands of men and women affected, it is great to be able to donate generously,” said Mrs Schlosz.

Michael Quarmby, Football NSW CEO, says he commends Sydney Olympic fans for supporting the Mother’s Day campaign. It is great to see a whole community, from grandmothers, mothers, daughters, wives of players and coaches coming together for a unique Mother’s Day,” said Mr Quarmby.

National Breast Cancer Foundation CEO, Sue Murray congratulates TeleChoice, Football NSW and Sydney Olympic for the fundraiser. “Survival from breast cancer is improving due to better detection and improved treatments which are the result of excellent research.  Support from TeleChoice, Football NSW and Sydney Olympic will greatly assist us in our ongoing mission to raise awareness and funds for this disease that continues to impact so many lives,” concluded Ms Murray.

Blogs

The new Blogs section is available to all Sydney Olympic members and season ticket holders, allowing them to keep an online diary and voice their opinions on all things.
Blogs, short for weblogs, have become hugely popular in the last couple of years and are simply a way for people to keep an online journal. They can be funny, serious, voice opinions or just catalogue what a person has been getting up too. It's the authors choice!

While anyone can view the blogs, the ability to keep a blog on the Sydney Olympic website is initially reserved as an added benefit for members and season ticket holders.
