Olympic are in the JW Cup Final PDF Print E-mail

Football NSW has announced that all Round 5 Johnny Warren Cup matches have been cancelled and will not be played at all - meaning that Sydney Olympic is in the final to be played this Saturday night.

Due to bad weather that plagued Sydney once again over the weekend, all round five Johnny Warren Cup matches were washed out.

As a result, Football NSW awarded each team with a point and all matches resulted in nil-all draws.

At the conclusion of this format, the Johnny Warren Cup Grand-Final has pitted the Sutherland Shire Sharks side taking on Sydney Olympic, with the game kicking off at 7.30pm.

The Sharks remained the only unbeaten side in the Johnny Warren Cup under its new coach Brian Brown who seems to have worked out a consistent formula in formation thus far during Pre-season.

The likes of new recruits such as key striker Brad Boardman, midfielder David Reid and outstanding defender Predrag Bojic have thus far excelled and will be players to watch out for this Saturday.

Meanwhile for Olympic, the Blues have also gone through a transitional change of their own under new coach Milan Blagojevic.

Olympic have signed as many as ten new recruits with players such as Paul Wither, Anthony Doumanis, Mirko Jurilj, Anthony Hartshorn and Jordanian International striker Siraj Al-Tall some of the new Blues stars that will be on show against the Sharks.

Meanwhile for the third/fourth playoff, two former NSL giants, the Marconi Stallions will take on Sydney United at 5.30pm.

Blogs

The new Blogs section is available to all Sydney Olympic members and season ticket holders, allowing them to keep an online diary and voice their opinions on all things.
Blogs, short for weblogs, have become hugely popular in the last couple of years and are simply a way for people to keep an online journal. They can be funny, serious, voice opinions or just catalogue what a person has been getting up too. It's the authors choice!

While anyone can view the blogs, the ability to keep a blog on the Sydney Olympic website is initially reserved as an added benefit for members and season ticket holders.
