Mission Statement

To be recognised as a financially viable, systemised and professionally run football club. To be leader in the development of players, coaches, managers and administrators at the same time providing a secure and stimulating environment, while offering an enjoyable experience to all our supporters and sponsors.

Coaching and Development

Sydney Olympic FC has an existing Junior/Youth Development Policy in place. The policy and development programs are designed for optimum football learning process from the ages between Under 13’s to Under 18’s. Programs include all levels of development i.e. psychological, team organisation, individual skill development, development of match mentality, strategic guidelines for team function. Structured training sessions are designed for each age group to enhance the total development as individuals and team players.

Sydney Olympic FC has teams from the ages of Under 13s to Under 18s participating in the Soccer NSW Premier Youth League Competition. In season 2005 Sydney Olympic ended the season in 6th position in the overall Club Championship. On the basis that Sydney Olympic already has teams in the Soccer NSW Premier Youth League Competition, the Club has set higher standards in terms of recruitment of players and coaches in order to maintain the high standards that is already in place. The joint agreement with ESSFA ensures the highest level of player development.

A program of extensive school visits to promote the game and the education of football skills has existed within the Club. The joint agreement with ESSFA allows much greater involvement in the local area as well as extensive schools education program. The objectives of the Club are very clear in the promotion and development of the game in the local area. They include a football learning process, structured training sessions, football organisation, elite training academies, school holiday training camps, promotion of the game as well as the Club, in order to enhance greater spectator participation at all Sydney Olympic FC matches in the Soccer NSW premier league.

Sydney Olympic FC has and will always continue to work in conjunction with Soccer NSW to promote and develop the code. Sydney Olympic ensures the highest level of professionalism possible in the areas of administration, coaching and playing, in order for the continual development of the game.

All staff of the club, whether full time, part time or volunteers are well qualified in their respective roles in order to maintain the highest level of professionalism. 
All coaching staff is be required by the Club to fulfil the necessary coaching credentials as per the requirements set by Soccer NSW. The Club’s 1st grade coach in Michael Urukalo, is highly qualified and experienced with extensive international coaching experience. One of his primary roles is the continued coaching education of the Club’s youth coaches in order to maintain the highest level of coaching for the youth players of Sydney Olympic FC. Sydney Olympic’s Development Officer in Abbas Saad is a former great player of the Club as well as an Australian International at both Youth and Senior level.

Sponsorship

Sponsorship must be comparable to the benefit received by the corporate sponsor.  Sydney Olympic FC’s sponsorship strategy focuses on identifying a strategic fit with corporate partners.

Sydney Olympic FC has a reputation for being a club which continuously develops elite footballers.  It is a club known for its heritage, its long history, its strong community links and its proven success.  Drawing on these and moving into the future, Sydney Olympic will emphasise family and community and actively undertake initiatives to expand its appeal to other cultures and ethnic groups.

With a focus on expanding its supporter base and becoming identified with the Eastern Suburbs, Sydney Olympic have entered into a five year partnership with Eastern Suburbs Soccer Football Association (ESSFA) which will grow and strengthen the existing community base that Sydney Olympic FC has enjoyed to date.
